Three actors portray twelve characters in a performance that combines monologues, live music, and choreography. A harsh satire on the world we live in, The Amusement Park, based on texts by Eric Bogosian, depicts a dystopia that confronts the audience with both the American dream and its dark side; with both the city lights and life in the filthiest sewers of the suburbs.

The Amusement Park is a dissection of life as a jungle, an idea that, in today’s consumer society, has become a veritable culture. The strongest survive. “Eat or be eaten, hunt or be hunted,” says one of the characters, laying out the rule of a world dominated by fear and greed. The production brings to the stage a cast of urban figures seduced by consumerism, speed, and entertainment, yet tormented by existential anxieties, searching for meaning in a world of excess and alienation.

The current team behind the project consists of Teodora Savu (director), Delia Ghizdăveț (set design), Adrian Piciorea (music and sound design), and Milena Muranyi (lighting and video design).

ȘI pitch is a networking and professional development program aimed at emerging artists. Its goal is to support young creators in identifying public and private funding opportunities, as well as in building partnerships with cultural institutions and associations.

For this first edition, three projects were selected, which the teams will present to experts in the cultural field. Each presentation is followed by a Q&A session, as well as panel discussions led by representatives from OISTAT Romania, Fundația 9, the Creative Europe Desk Romania and AFCN.

Through this framework for dialogue, ȘI pitch aims to open up opportunities for collaboration and facilitate young artists’ access to the resources necessary for developing their projects.
