The Office promotes the Creative Europe Programme at national level, provides free technical assistance to operators wishing to access funding, helps identify European partners for cooperation, and promotes funded projects.
The Office operates within the Project Management Unit of the Ministry of Culture and is part of the network of Creative Europe Desks in the participating countries.
The Creative Europe Office has no responsibilities related to receiving and evaluating funding applications, selecting winning projects, or awarding grants. These responsibilities belong to the European Education and Culture Executive Agency.
Creative Europe is the European Union’s most important funding programme dedicated to supporting the creative sectors, culture, and the audiovisual field.
The programme has a total budget of EUR 2.44 billion for the 2021–2027 period and is managed by the European Commission through the European Education and Culture Executive Agency, which receives and evaluates applications. Creative Europe has two sub-programmes, MEDIA and Culture, as well as a cross-sectoral component that facilitates collaboration between creative sectors and supports the news media sector by promoting media literacy, pluralism, and press freedom.
The Creative Europe Programme was established on the basis of the Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council available here.
ȘI pitch is a networking and professional development program aimed at emerging artists. Its goal is to support young creators in identifying public and private funding opportunities, as well as in building partnerships with cultural institutions and associations.
For this first edition, three projects were selected, which the teams will present to experts in the cultural field. Each presentation is followed by a Q&A session, as well as panel discussions led by representatives from OISTAT Romania, Fundația 9, the Creative Europe Desk Romania and AFCN.
Through this framework for dialogue, ȘI pitch aims to open up opportunities for collaboration and facilitate young artists’ access to the resources necessary for developing their projects.
